Since the week of after Thanksgiving, the newest bear of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite, Nemsha, has had its twin as Rosewater Market & Takeaway.
There, the bear brought smiles and joy to so many of the people who visited this popular Edgartown eatery. But he was more than a cuddly face, the bear was there to find a forever home. People had the chance to win this adorable, giant teddy. Raffle tickets were sold, with every dollar going to the Boys & Girls Club.
Finally after three weeks of anticipation for the many who entered and hoped to win the bear, December 20th came. Rosewater’s own Julia Celeste drew the winning ticket.
Excited, I read the name, Logan. I then read the rest of the ticket and saw that the contact info was Kate Ferrucci. I knew Kate and her sweet little boy Logan! I know here from Homegrown Preschool, and she and Logan had been to the Teddy Bear Suite with Freddie & Eddie Teddy — his favorite twin bears.
I knew Logan loved bears, and was thrilled to call Kate and tell her! She too was very excited, and was coming later that same day to bring Logan to get the bear.
It was a match made in heaven, and thanks for the great photos Kate! The bear is yet to have a name but has become fast friends with Freddie & Eddie Teddy. Logan is excited to see his new big bear every morning!
This part of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite has definitely brought some Christmas magic to this sweet boy.
The teddy bears suite continues until the end of the year. We have now raised over $22,000 for the Boys & Girl’s Club’s Healthy Happy Kids, their program to battle childhood hunger on the Island.
We are working to raise $25,000 – which is half of the cost to fund the program. We only have $3,000 left to go. You too can help, click here to donate today.
What your donation can provide:
$50 feeds 25 children for one day
$100 feeds 50 children for one day
$200 feeds all the children for one day
$1,000 feeds one child from September to June
It’s amazing that $200, a dinner out for most, can feed so many kids for an entire afternoon at the Club. Makes you feel good to know that YOU can do that, be the one that helps them not go hungry.
We want to thank Kate and her family and all those that have donated to the teddy bear suite to date. And we hope you too will help support Healthy Happy Kids.
Hi Quenevere, I heard about your Teddy Bear Fundraiser and I have this huge Teddy Bear. He’s camel colored! He’s about 55” long and arm span is about 40”. Not sure if u could use this Teddy Bear for a Teddy Bear Fundraiser?! Thanks, Pam
Really Nice surprise. That teddy bear is all I was dreaming for christmas time. This colour is special too! Maybe you can tell me where I can find to buy one teddy like this too? I have found teddy bears only in Europe at http://www.teddyway.com but I need delivery in Canada.
