It’s Giving Tuesday and we’re hoping you’ll help us give, give, give to the Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club (MVBGC), an organization near and dear to our hearts, and one we’ve supported through our popular Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser, now in its 13th year. To date, you’ve helped us raise over $371,000+ for the MVBGC after-school programs with a focus on food security, a very real issue on our magical island.
As a way to show extra love and support for the Boys And Girls Club and all they do to provide a safe and welcoming space for island youth (since 1937!) including providing nutritious meals and snacks, we’re offering a matching 50-cents for every dollar donated online at MVTeddyBearSuite.com up to $10,000 for today only, Tuesday, Nov. 28th.
The Work of the Martha’s Vineyard Boys and Girls Club
MVBGC is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and your online donations are tax deductible and secure. Your donation will go directly to supporting MVBGC’s Beyond the School Bell program with its safety net approach that:
- Serves an average of 95 kids per day during their after-school program
- Provides over 60,000 prepared meals and snacks each year (an average of 5,000 per month)
- Provides a weekly half-ton of rescued food
- Rescues 1,000 Pounds of food surplus from local farms, markets, and food purveyors and redistributes it every week, which equals half a ton in food volume
- Assists 40 families per week through their Blue Door Pantry, where families can pick up perishable food, non-perishable food, cleaning products, hygiene products, essential clothes, and more, at no cost to families
- And so much more!
In 2023 the MVBGC’s membership has more than doubled, reflecting the increasing number of families who rely on this incredible organization for quality out-of-school learning opportunities and essential safety net services. This Holiday Season we have a goal to raise $50,000 to help support the important food security and wellness programs of the MVBGC, can you help?
