Organizers of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite have just announced that the annual holiday fundraiser will open its doors for the 2016 season on Friday, December 2, 2016. The Teddy Bear Suite will be open continuously for 10 days — including the Christmas In Edgartown weekend — at the Harbor View Hotel.
Now entering its sixth year, the event has already raised $50,000 over the past five years for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. The fundraising focus this year is on food. The Boys & Girls Club is launching a major new program to greatly expand the nutritional role it plays with the 500 children it sees after school each week.
Our Teddy Bear Suite Club partner, new Executive Director Jessie Damroth, told us, that the plan is to move far beyond simply providing an after school snack, and to take a leading nutritional role with the children and their families by providing healthier food and more meals. The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser moves to a new home at the Harbor View Hotel this year. We’ll be hosting multiple rooms of holiday magic at the Harbor View Hotel Captain Collins Cottage #20.
The Teddy Bear Suite will be open on December 2nd, and stay open through December 11, 2016. The Teddy Bear Suite is free for all — although donations are always appreciated. A substantial part of the holiday fundraising is done online. We will have a new donation website available shortly.
