The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Raffle and the Winners Are….

Teddy Bear Suite Raffle Winners – Each year, the ending of the Teddy Bear Suite and Christmas in Edgartown is bittersweet, but one of my favorite parts of this incredible event happens then.

We draw the winners of our annual holiday raffle — one of the important ways we raise money for the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser, which supports the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club Healthy Happy Kids food program.

This year, we had three wonderful choices, a Beach Buggy print by Lure Fish, the MV Market Tote and lovely earrings from Slate, and the Vineyard Restaurant Experience, which has over $700 worth of Island restaurant gift certificates. You can only imagine how fun it is to call the winners.

The drawing is always the Monday after Christmas in Edgartown, and the office at Point B is all a buzz waiting to see who has won this year. 

Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser

The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser has a goal this year of raising $45,000. That’s enough money to underwrite the entire H2K after-school food program, which is now feeding one in three island children in Kindergarten to eighth grade.  The program is a game changer, and it’s working. It’s already helping end childhood hunger and food insecurity on Martha’s Vineyard.

With the raffle, the Teddy Bear Trot, Teddies Around Town, the Teddy Bear Suite, and online donations, we hope to meet that goal. As of December 11th, we have raised $27,000 so far!

Back to the raffle and the winners are….. the MV Market Tote and earrings, Ninon Garvin (Edgartown) was the lucky lady. As you can imagine, Nonnie was pretty excited to find out she won. She has had her eye on that tote for a while in Slate’s window.

For the Lure Fish print, Jackie Hennessey was the winner. She and her husband were on Island celebrating their anniversary. I hope winning this whimsical Island inspired print makes the weekend even more memorable.

For the “grand prize” so to say, because the Vineyard Restaurant Experience is over the top, we have Rene DaSilva, from Vineyard Haven, who won this prize that so many people had hoped to win.

As you can imagine, he was surprised to say the least. He was thrilled and has big plans for dining out all over after the holidays!

A big congrats to our winners and a big thank you to all those who participated in the raffle. We raised a couple thousand dollars with your help!

Name The New Bear

Some crowd favorites include Squibby, Sengy, Moshup, and Tashmoo. We love that people are keeping the Island name theme going each year.
