Teddies Around Town Kicks Off Today – The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite opened its doors today — literally all across Edgartown. Teddies Around Town is a fun new addition to the annual holiday fundraiser.

How Teddies Around Town Works

In addition to the festively decorated Tebby Bear Suite at 17 Winter Street, in Nevin Square (our new Teddy Bear Suite location at Nikki Sedacca Gallery), 23 businesses across Edgartown now have Teddy Bear Suite bears too! All the owners are creating their own pop-up Teddy Bear scenes. And that’s where you come in.

Teddies Around Town Photo Contest

There are Instagram photo frames at all the locations. Have some fun, use the photo frames, plus use our hashtags: #mvteddybearsuite, #teddiesaroundtown, #mvboysandgirlsclub, #christmasinedgartown. There will be prizes awarded in two categories — those who visit and shoot pictures at the most locations AND most popular photo overall. You’ve got to use the hashtags and post to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, to be in the running.

Teddies Around Town Donations

The Teddies Around Town pop-up host partners are also in a fun competition of sorts. The business that raises the most money, AND the business that has the most popular photographed bear vignette will be recognized and awarded prizes.

And while we encourage having as much photo fun as possible, at as many locations as possible, we would be honored if you donate at as many locations as possible too.

Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser

The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite is an annual holiday fundraiser that supports the vital Healthy Happy Kids program run by the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. This after-school program now feeds more than a third of all the kindergarten thru eighth-grade school children on Martha’s Vineyard. The program is working and making a substantial difference in the childhood hunger and food insecurity problem on the island. 

If you can’t visit the Teddy Bear Suite or any of the Teddies Around Town pop-up locations, we welcome your donations online. Our goal this year is $45,000 — enough to fund this vital program for another year. By midday, we had raised $19,000+ so far. Donate now
