A big Teddy Bear Suite Cheer! Organizers of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite today reported a very successful day of fundraising on Friday, during the first day of Christmas in Edgartown festivities. The overall drive total has now passed $14,270!
Donations were pouring in from the door of the Teddy Bear Suite, the annual holiday raffle, pre-registration for the Teddy Bear Trot 5K Run & Walk (race day is Sunday, Dec. 10th), and online donations continued from near and far.
The Raffle table in the lobby of the Harbor View Hotel had a great first day, with its best-ever collection of holiday goodies, and hundreds of visitors — of all ages — poured into the Teddy Bear Suite itself, to enjoy a little of the holiday magic.
There were lots of new faces, and many familiar ones, as families and friends joyfully snapped away with cameras and smart phones, for their traditional Teddy Bear Suite holiday photos.

Along with the hundreds of visitors we greeted yesterday, special thanks go to: Rosbeck Builders, Tuck & Holland Metal Sculptors, Deby Gervais, Joe DiRico, Sharon Krawiecki and Michele Hipp for their very generous online donations. Thank you, we are honored by your generous support!
And we have to thank our own generous group of Point B real estate agents, who are volunteering their time to be the Teddy Bear Suite hosts. Our first group included (left to right) Sheylah Jordan, Emily Avakian, and Stacy Ickes.
Our next group of Teddy Bear Suite hosts were: Joe Barkett, Valerie Hart, and Jen O’Hanlon.
The final group included the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite co-founders, Wendy Harman and Win Baker (left), and Susan Harman. On behalf of all our volunteer hosts, Point B has donated $600 today as a thank you, to the Teddy Bear Suite fundraiser. And of course, we add a very big, personal THANK YOU!
Fundraising Goal Is $20,000+
All the money raised through all the various Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite events, goes directly to support hundreds of elementary school aged children on Martha’s Vineyard, who receive an after school snack or meal, that is healthy and substantial, from the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. The Healthy Happy Kids program is making a significant impact on childhood hunger and food insecurity on the Vineyard.
